Hi, I’m Jo, a botanical artist from Melbourne.

After a 20-year career as a children’s TV writer, I hung up my whiteboard marker to be a full-time painter and picture-book maker.

I studied visual art at Melbourne Polytechnic for one blissful year, and have been self-taught since then. I’ve had work commissioned by the Royal Botanic Gardens, exhibited in galleries all over Melbourne, and been shortlisted for the Wilderness Society’s Environment Award for Children’s Literature.

But my proudest moments as an artist are the unsung ones. When collectors tell me about the ways my art has added to their lives and spoken to their hearts.

If my work helps you connect more deeply with your environment and the people you love, it makes me so happy because that's what being an artist is all about.
